LOSING SOMETHING YOU VALUED MORE THAN ANYTHING IS A LOT LIKE LOSING A LIMB.

Having someone say, “There are plenty out there,” is like having someone say, “Hey, have you tried prosthetics, yet?”

Having someone say, “There’s something better waiting for you,” is like having someone say, “They have Star Wars hands they can fit on you. You will still be able to hold your lightsaber, young Skywalker, even if that robo-hand isn’t your actual hand.”

Please keep this in mind when someone near you loses their relationship or marriage, a job, a home, a pet, a close friendship, a car, their bank account, or anything of any real value to them. It may be a dime a dozen to you, and I’m sure you think that person could get better / do better / deserves an upgrade – but in their mind – in their eyes – nothing will ever compare to what they just lost.
